Greetings Drama Club!
Raine is feeling under the weather, so I'm stepping in for the update this week.
First, we had a great rehearsal this past Tuesday, despite a few absences. Please let us know if you are going to miss any upcoming rehearsals. We have a limited amount of time left to get our show ready for the performance!
Next week we will rehearse as usual in the high school room after CD from 12-1PM. During that rehearsal we will discuss the costumes we need each character to create. We are not expecting you to spend money! A lot of our characterization will be through the makeup design thoughtfully created by Cadence and Heidi. We do have some guidelines for creating your costumes, and we will enumerate them on Tuesday.
We have three weeks off from Community Day after next week, which includes the testing week of April 29-May 3. We would like to plan on having rehearsals from 10:00-12:00 on the Tuesdays that we DON'T meet at CD. Instead of meeting at the church we will meet at the park down the street. (I'll bring snacks!) We resume CD and regular rehearsal on May 7th. Please let us know if you can't make either or both of the two park rehearsals. We're on such a tight schedule, we want to make sure we get enough rehearsal time, but if you are unable to attend we will certainly make arrangements.
Mrs. Prado was kind enough to secure the sanctuary for us to perform the play on June 4th at 9:30AM! We will need all cast and crew to arrive early on that day to get into costume and makeup. That call time will be announced, but plan on arriving at CD early that day to make sure you are ready to go onstage at 9:30AM.
The performance is free, and we encourage you to invite your family!
We will have dress rehearsal in the sanctuary the week before, on May 28, after CD from 12-1PM. This will give all of you a chance to get a feel for performing on the big stage.

April 23: NO CD but Rehearsal 10:00AM-noon in the park
April 30: NO CD AND NO REHEARSAL for state testing week! (Good luck, everyone!)
May 7: Rehearsal as usual in high school room after CD from 12-1PM
May 14: Rehearsal as usual in high school room after CD from 12-1PM
May 21: Rehearsal as usual in high school room after CD from 12-1PM
May 28: DRESS REHEARSAL IN THE SANCTUARY after CD from 12-1PM
June 4: OUR PERFORMANCE IN THE SANCTUARY 9:30AM (Cast and crew call time TBD)
We'll all go to the park to celebrate after CD for a combo cast party and end of the year CD Park Day.
Please start memorizing your lines as soon as possible. Go over your part with a family member and prepare to be off-book (that means no script!) by our second park rehearsal April 23.
We might include a set-building project at one of the park rehearsals. Stay tuned for info!
